UNDERSTANDING PLANTAR FASCIITIS

  1. Thick band of tissue that is present along the bottom of your foot; which connects the heel
    bone to your toes is plantar fascia.
  2. It plays an important role in shock absorption.
  3. When this gets strained/ overused
  4. Then it is called Plantar fasciitis

    ➢ Overuse
    ➢ Improper footwear
    ➢ Age and weight
    ➢ Foot mechanics
    WHEN CAN YOU EXACTLY TERM YOUR HEEL PAIN AS PLANTAR FASCIITIS??
    ➢ Pain in first few steps
    ➢ Pain decreases as you continue walking
    ➢ Especially pain on inner part of your heel
    HOW CAN IT BE TREATED?
    ➢ You can manage your pain using NSAIDS.
    ➢ Rest and ice will help along with supportive footwear
